The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at Inkersall was refounded in 2017, and following a series of highly successful and well-attended planning meetings, will begin fundraising and community liaison from 2018. Early activities will include a Valentine’s disco; a ‘reading dog’ to help children learn, and a new allotment to complement the nursery and school gardens.
The role of the PTA is to encourage closer links between home and school; and to host events which create opportunities for parents, staff and pupils to spend time together. Lastly, the PTA has a fundraising remit, generating income for extra learning resources and support which may lay outside the school’s main activity.
At Inkersall, we have chosen to split funds generated by the PTA between the school and our local charity partners, with a focus on children’s charities working in the Chesterfield area.
We will be looking for more PTA members, and choosing a PTA committee, in the spring term. The first meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 9th January at 7.30pm at The Den. Interested parents should contact our Parent Governor Nicole Browne at firstname.lastname@example.org
